Dibba Al-Hisn Municipality launches the 46th Afforestation Week

Sharjah, November 24 / WAM / Today, the Dibba Al Hisn Municipality launched the activities of the 46th Afforestation Week under the slogan “Together… Let us plant the Emirates” with the aim of enhancing community awareness of the importance of afforestation and the role of community members in increasing the green area and preserving local plants, in addition to highlighting the aesthetic image of the city.

The launch of the activities at the Children’s Center came in the presence of Dr. Muhammad Salman Al-Hammadi, Assistant Undersecretary for the Food Diversity Sector at the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, Ahmed Abdullah bin Yarouf Al-Naqbi, Chairman of the Municipal Council of Dibba Al-Hisn, and Talib Abdullah Al-Yahyaei, Director of Dibba Al-Hisn Municipality, along with a number of directors of government institutions operating in the city.

To celebrate the “Year of the Family,” the Municipality of Dibba Al-Hisn opened the “Family Park 2,” which was designed to be an integrated space that keeps pace with the state’s vision of promoting family values ​​and quality of life.

Dr. Muhammad Salman Al Hammadi said that the UAE will remain at the forefront of countries that pay great attention to afforestation and increasing the green area in line with the visions of the wise leadership in promoting environmental sustainability. The National Afforestation Week comes to consolidate the culture of agriculture among various segments of society and motivate them to actively participate in protecting the environment and supporting biodiversity.

For his part, Talib Abdullah Al-Yahyaei stressed the Dibba Al-Hisn Municipality’s keenness to implement specific initiatives that enhance the aesthetic appearance of the city and support national trends in increasing green spaces. The launch of Afforestation Week and the opening of Family Park 2 come together to embody the municipality’s efforts in providing well-equipped family facilities and natural spaces that contribute to the well-being of residents and improving the quality of life.

During the events, Khadija Najib Al Nuaimi, Director of the Municipality’s Agriculture Department, provided a detailed explanation about the importance of afforestation and the role of the administration in expanding green spaces in the city, stressing the municipality’s commitment to agricultural plans that support plant diversity and sustainability.
