"Dubai Electricity" and"source" Strengthen their strategic partnership

Dubai, November 25 / WAM / Dubai Electricity and Water Authority and Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company “Masdar” signed a three-year bilateral partnership agreement, under which it will continue its role as a partner of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week Summit.
Masdar, the host of the week, continues its role as the main sponsor of the Water, Energy and Environment Technology Exhibition (WETEX), which is organized by the Authority.
The agreement was signed by His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, and His Excellency Mohammed Jameel Al Ramahi, CEO of Masdar, and aims to unify efforts and exchange experiences between the two parties to accelerate the pace of making a qualitative shift in the global energy sector and promote sustainable development inside and outside the UAE, in line with the UAE Strategy for Climate Neutrality 2050, and the Carbon Neutrality 2050 Strategy for the Emirate of Dubai, which aims to provide 100% of the energy production capacity in the UAE. Dubai comes from clean sources by 2050.
His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer stressed that the Authority, in line with the directives of the wise leadership, is keen to strengthen the bonds of partnership and cooperation with “Masdar”, and exchange the best experiences and the most prominent global practices, in a way that contributes to advancing the process of sustainable development. He said that the agreement confirms the depth of the relations between the two institutions and our common vision for a sustainable future based on innovation and knowledge.
For his part, Mohammed Jameel Al Ramahi said: This agreement is an extension of our close partnership with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, through which we continue to cooperate to implement a group of the most important clean energy projects in the UAE. With the great development witnessed by the energy sector globally, it has become necessary for institutions such as Masdar and Dubai Electricity and Water Authority to play a leadership role based on taking bold and decisive steps that contribute to accelerating sustainable economic, social and environmental progress. Through our partnership, we can unite our expertise. And our efforts to make a broad impact.”
Under this partnership, the two institutions will cooperate closely to enhance the content of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week and the WETEX exhibition and the scope of their impact, and to consolidate the partnership between the government and private sectors, in addition to stimulating investments in the fields of renewable energy and clean technologies.
