Announcing the launch of the second session of the UAE Essay Award

Dubai, January 16 / WAM / The Dubai Press Club and the Board of Trustees of the Emirati Article Award organized a press conference today (Thursday) at the club’s headquarters to announce the launch of the second session of the Emirati Article Award, in the presence of the founder of the award and the president and members of its Board of Trustees.
On this occasion, Maryam Al Mulla affirmed the support of the Dubai Press Club for this qualitative national initiative aimed at enhancing the presence of the Emirati article in the literary scene, and embracing young and promising writers of articles in the Emirates, noting that the award’s objectives are consistent with the club’s mission to discover media talents and motivate them to contribute to enriching the media work arena with creative works and ideas.
In turn, His Excellency Abdul Ghaffar Hussein, the founder of the award, extended his deep thanks and appreciation to the Dubai Press Club for its cooperation with the award. He also extended special thanks to businessman Khalaf Al Habtoor for the generous support he provides to the award, which represents one of the factors of its success in achieving its mission. His Excellency announced the opening of the door for participation in the second session, expressing his sincere wishes to all participants for success.
Dr. Abdul Khaleq Abdullah, Chairman of the Award’s Board of Trustees, spoke about the Emirati article that confirms its presence and regains its audience, noting that evidence of this is evident in the large number of entries in the first session of the award, which confirmed that the Emirati article came to survive and develop, and keep pace with the UAE’s journey towards global leadership, as this requires the presence of the author of the influential and inspiring article.
For her part, Mira Al Janahi, a member of the Award’s Board of Trustees, reviewed the new Emirati Essay Award in its second session, especially in terms of increasing the number of award branches to nine branches, and amending one of the award’s conditions so that the number of words in the article should not be less than 800 words and not more than 1,000, in addition to the decision of the Award’s Board of Trustees to increase the value of the award to 20 thousand dirhams for each branch, starting from the second session, in which receiving entries begins tomorrow, Friday, January 16, and ends on March 16. 2026.
