Saud bin Saqr opens the 14th edition of the festival "Ras Al Khaimah Art 2026"
Ras Al Khaimah, January 17, 2026 – His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, opened the activities of the 14th session of the “Ras Al Khaimah Art 2026” Festival, organized by the Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation for Public Policy Research, under the slogan “Civilisations”.
The opening of the festival, in the heritage village of Al-Jazira Al-Hamra, was attended by a number of Their Excellencies, ambassadors accredited to the state, and senior officials, with the participation of more than 100 artists from 49 countries, presenting artistic works and experiences within activities that will continue until next February 8.
His Highness the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah stressed that investing in culture and arts consolidates awareness of national and historical identity, enhances understanding and rapprochement between peoples, and supports paths of economic diversification through the development of the cultural and creative industries sector, which reflects the attractiveness of Ras Al Khaimah in various sectors and its competitiveness as a center for quality events.
His Highness pointed out that the festival embodies the historical cultural and artistic heritage of the emirate, and reflects its trends in consolidating the values and aesthetics of arts and culture as pillars of development, and strengthens Ras Al Khaimah’s position as an effective regional center in the arts and creative industries. His Highness explained that the event celebrates creative and talented people from the country and all over the world, and encourages the advancement of various creative arts forms that reflect people’s civilizations and their heritage, which is rich in human and intellectual values.
His Highness welcomed the participating artists from countries around the world, appreciating the efforts of the organizing bodies and supporting partners, and their role in enhancing the quality of the cultural experience and expanding the scope of community participation, in a way that supports the sustainability of the artistic movement in the emirate.
His Highness the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah toured the festival’s sections, during which he viewed a group of artistic works and listened to explanations provided by the artists about the contents of their works, their methods, and techniques, and the visual readings they reflect of the slogan “Civilizations” as a space for encounter and dialogue between memory and reality.
His Highness also reviewed the festival’s program, which includes interactive workshops, live performances, and educational experiences, in addition to discussion sessions and artistic and craft workshops, providing an integrated cultural experience that combines the cognitive dimension with the direct artistic experience, targeting different segments of society.
The Ras Al Khaimah Art Festival is a cultural platform that contributes to deepening the presence of art in the cultural scene in the emirate, activating heritage and historical sites as incubators of knowledge, and attracting a wide range of creative practices that enhance Ras Al Khaimah’s position on the map of cultural events in the UAE and the region.
