Trump: The suspected shooter in Washington came from Afghanistan in 2021


US President Donald Trump said that the suspect in the shooting of two members of the National Guard near the White House in Washington came from Afghanistan in September 2021, and described the incident as "Terrorist act"
Trump said from Florida: "The suspect who was arrested is a foreigner who entered our country from Afghanistan and was brought here by the Joe Biden administration in September 2021."
He added that his government will now have to re-vet all individuals who came to the United States from Afghanistan while his Democratic predecessor, Joe Biden, was in office.

Deploying 500 additional soldiers

Announced US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, that President Donald Trump ordered the deployment of 500 additional troops from The National Guard in Washington following a shooting incident at two National Guard members near the White House.

Hegseth said, in statements to reporters commenting on the incident: "Trump asked him to communicate with the Secretary of the Army to make the decision to send National Guard reinforcements to the capital"
He pointed out that the goal is to support security measures and maintain stability.
