The Ruler of Sharjah approves two development projects to achieve traffic flow in the city of Sharjah

Sharjah, 27 November / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, approved two development projects to achieve traffic flow in the city of Sharjah.
The first project included developing the Sharjah Ring Road adjacent to the “Etihad Train” station in the city of Sharjah, with a length of 5 km, at an estimated cost of 90 million dirhams, and aims to reduce pressure on Maliha Road. The University City Bridge will also be developed to become 4 lanes, with two lanes in each direction, to ensure the flow of traffic and ease of movement up to the Rakan Bridge.
The second project is based on the construction of a new bridge next to the “Martyrs’ Monument” in the city of Sharjah at a cost of 60 million dirhams, to be a path for those coming from Maliha Road towards Mohammed bin Zayed Road “without stopping”, as well as for those coming from Sheikh Khalifa Street towards Maliha Road. The bridge will have a beautiful and civilized character that reflects the beauty of the region.
The approval of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah comes in support of developing the infrastructure in the emirate, enhancing the efficiency of the road network, and meeting the needs of the population and urban growth witnessed by Sharjah. The two projects will also contribute to raising the level of traffic safety, reducing congestion, and improving travel time between different regions.
