The Jordanian Foreign Ministry pledges to take all measures to stop the recruitment of Jordanians into the Russian army

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs in Jordan called on the Russian authorities to stop recruiting Jordanians and to end the recruitment of any Jordanian citizen who was previously conscripted into the Russian army.
She explained in a statement published through her official account on the X platform, that the Directorate of Operations and Consular Affairs in the Ministry is following up on the details related to the killing of two Jordanian citizens after they were recruited to fight with the Russian army..
The statement quoted the Ministry’s official spokesman, Fouad Al-Majali, as saying that the Ministry is closely following operations to lure Jordanian citizens by external parties for the purpose of illegal recruitment, which is considered a violation of Jordanian and international law and endangers the lives of citizens..
According to the statement, Al-Majali indicated that the ministry calls on citizens to report any attempts to recruit them into the Russian army, and warns against dealing with it due to the danger it poses to the lives of citizens and the violation of the law it represents, in addition to calling on the Russian authorities to stop recruiting Jordanians and to end the recruitment of any Jordanian citizen who was previously conscripted into the Russian army, and that it will take all available measures to stop this process..
The Jordanian Foreign Ministry warned of the presence of parties working via the Internet to recruit Jordanians, stressing that it is following up on these parties in coordination with national institutions to take all legal and diplomatic measures to stop them and apply the law to them, since what they are doing of deceiving Jordanians and recruiting them into a foreign army is a grave violation of international law, international obligations, and Jordanian law, which criminalizes joining a foreign army, according to the statement.
