"Sharjah Economy" Discussing with an Indian delegation enhancing investment in economic sectors

Sharjah, 27 November / WAM / The Sharjah Department of Economic Development discussed with a delegation from the Republic of India, headed by His Excellency Satish Kumar Sivan, its Consul General in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, economic relations and ways to enhance the role of the industrial and commercial sectors and specialized bodies, and exchange views and viewpoints on how to benefit from the expertise available on each side in a way that contributes to establishing joint investment projects in various economic sectors.

During the meeting, which was held at the department’s headquarters in the presence of His Excellency Hamad Ali Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Chairman of the Sharjah Economic Development Department, the two sides discussed the importance of exploring investment opportunities in the industrial sector, benefiting from the advantages enjoyed by the Emirate of Sharjah, and increasing the interest of businessmen and investment companies in Sharjah and India in joint projects.

The two sides discussed opportunities to enhance cooperation between companies and businessmen in various vital sectors such as investment and manufacturing, in addition to learning about the incentives and facilities provided by Sharjah and the services provided by Sharjah Economy to ensure strengthening communication with local companies and facilitating the establishment of new commercial partnerships.

For its part, the department reviewed the latest initiatives and projects implemented by Sharjah in the field of supporting investors and facilitating procedures for doing business, in addition to introducing the promising sectors in the emirate and the opportunities that could constitute a natural extension of the growing Indian investments in the region, in addition to presenting the latest Indian projects existing in Sharjah and discussing strengthening the mechanism for the participation of Indian companies in the local economic system.

His Excellency Hamad Ali Abdullah Al Mahmoud stressed that the UAE and India share exemplary and long-standing diplomatic, economic and cultural relations, pointing out that the meeting is considered an important platform for enhancing economic cooperation, trade exchange and the flow of investments in both directions.

He pointed out that the Emirate of Sharjah is one of the most important contributors to developing and enhancing the level of these relations between the two friendly countries at various levels and pushing them to promising horizons towards greater cooperation and mutual benefit in various sectors and fields.

He stressed Sharjah Economy’s keenness to enhance cooperation between economic business communities in various sectors and link them with their counterparts in various countries, including the Republic of India, out of the Department’s belief in the importance of cooperation and exploring economic opportunities at the international level, given the Emirate of Sharjah’s leadership position in the economic sectors at the regional level and the promising opportunities for success it possesses in this field.
