A partnership between Dubai Culture and Hala to highlight Emirati art on taxis during Union Day

Dubai, November 27 / WAM / The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, Dubai Culture, announced a long-term partnership with Hala, a company specializing in taxi booking solutions in the emirate, to launch a distinctive artistic initiative on the occasion of Union Day.
The initiative includes displaying Emirati creative works on 400 taxis, through which daily trips are transformed into mobile art exhibitions that reflect the national identity and the spirit of Emirati creativity, as part of a program that contributes to enhancing access to cultural and heritage sites in Dubai.
The first phase of this partnership is based on supporting a common vision to facilitate the public’s communication with the local cultural scene and enhance the relationship between residents, visitors and the creative community by making art a part of the details of daily life in the neighborhoods and regions of Dubai, especially during the celebration of Union Day and beyond.
Khaled Nusseibeh, CEO of Hala, said that this partnership embodies the spirit of initiative and bringing art closer to people, expressing his happiness at supporting young Emirati talent and launching this cooperation during a cherished national occasion such as Union Day.
For his part, Saleh Al-Buraiki, Director of Corporate Communications and Marketing at Dubai Culture, explained that the Authority is keen to make art available and close to everyone, noting that the “Hala” partnership reinforces the Authority’s approach to expanding the presence of Emirati art outside the official exhibitions into the public space, in a way that reflects the spirit of Dubai and deepens the connection between art and society.
The artwork that will decorate the taxis is the creation of Emirati artist Wafa Ibrahim, whose design was inspired by the pulse of daily life in the Emirates through a visual style inspired by comic arts and combining modernity, heritage symbols, elements of the desert and sea, city landmarks, and human relations that form the fabric of life in Dubai.”
Art vehicles will appear on the streets of Dubai starting this November, giving residents and visitors a new visual experience in which mobility functions are integrated with creative expression. Hala will offer special discounts on trips to and from accredited cultural destinations in the emirate in support of visiting museums, libraries and heritage sites.
The initiative coincides with the 54th Union Day, under the slogan “Our Union is the Beginning of Every Story,” with the two parties continuing to develop additional programs over the coming year to support the cultural scene and strengthen its connection with society.
