Abu Dhabi, November 28 / WAM / Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, the activities of the Zayed Charity Race 2025 will start tomorrow from Wahat Al Karama all the way to “Erth” Abu Dhabi, with wide participation from various nationalities.
The number of registered participants exceeded 10,000 male and female contestants of various nationalities and age groups, in a scene that embodies the values of giving and community cohesion established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him.
The race carries a pioneering humanitarian message, as its proceeds are allocated to support three advanced research programs at the Abu Dhabi Stem Cell Center, which include developing an innovative treatment for cancer using tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes, establishing an artificial intelligence platform to enhance precision medicine to treat multiple sclerosis and type 1 diabetes, in addition to a scientific project to produce advanced skin treatments from placental tissue used in skin regeneration and accelerating wound healing.
These initiatives reflect the UAE’s commitment to medical innovation and creating a sustainable impact that benefits future generations.
The total prize money for the race is one and a half million dirhams, to enhance the spirit of competition and motivate participants to achieve the best results.
The race activities will begin with the 10 km category at 7:00 am, followed by the 5 km category at 7:15, then the 3 km race at 7:30, with the coronation ceremony starting at 8:30 am in a festive atmosphere.
Lieutenant General (M) Mohammed Hilal Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee for the race, confirmed that the number of participants exceeding the barrier of 10,000 competitors is not just a number, but a living testimony to the prestigious status that this event has achieved.
He added that the Zayed Charity Race has become a national station firmly established in the conscience of society, and people not only wait for it, but participate in it with deep belief in its noble messages. It is a race that carries the meaning of belonging, and in its goals is the spirit of giving and a sincere call for better health and broader humanity.
In turn, His Excellency Arif Hamad Al Awani, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, said that the Zayed Charity Race represents one of the most prominent community and humanitarian events in Abu Dhabi and combines sports, charitable work and health awareness in one framework that embodies the legacy of the founding father and the noble values of the Emirates.
He added that the event continues to expand its humanitarian impact year after year, especially with its proceeds directed to qualitative medical research that contributes to improving the lives of patients and strengthening the health innovation system in the country.
The organizing committee had announced that the race bag delivery phase would conclude this Friday evening, after its launch last Monday in “Irth” Abu Dhabi, where it witnessed a large turnout of participants keen to complete their procedures in preparation for the day of the event.
In order to ensure the smoothness of the organization, free parking and transportation services were provided from the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and Zayed Sports City between 4:30 and 6:30 a.m., in addition to closing the roads leading to the starting site at 5 a.m. to ensure the highest levels of safety.
Cheerleading areas and paths with beautiful views will be equipped, in addition to the community village at the “Erth” Abu Dhabi Hotel, which includes family activities, children’s experiences, live performances, and food and beverage platforms, to enhance the festive character of the event.
