المملكة: “Assessment” and “failing tests”… a new mechanism for evaluating students who have dropped out of school – urgent

I put The Ministry of Educationin order to put an end to the efforts in dealing with the file of students who have dropped out of school, by adopting a comprehensive and accurate evaluation mechanism for the three educational stages, which ensures treatment of educational loss and accurately identifies cases that require repeating the school year or giving the student another opportunity to compensate through second-year exams and failure, in order to ensure educational justice and discipline in the academic path.
The Ministry detailed in the new examinations guide the mechanism for dealing with students in the primary and intermediate stages, as The academic year in the formative subjects, so that the school evaluates them in the skills of the interruption period at the beginning of the next academic year, and the result is monitored accordingly, to ensure that their previous efforts are not wasted.
With regard to subjects with a summative or formative assessment monitored by grades, the Ministry directed that the student who dropped out at the end of the year be subjected to tests for the subjects of the missing period during the date of the second round test or the date designated for excused absentees.
The Ministry stressed a decisive measure requiring By returning the student to the academic year in the event that he interrupted the end of the year and returned after the end of the dates for the second round exams and those who were absent with an excuse, while granting education directors the authority to direct the “Emergency Testing Committee” to study special cases and exclude them.
Handling the situation of the interrupted student
Within the context of the secondary stage, the regulations stipulated that the situation of the student who was interrupted for a period of study be dealt with by testing him in subjects out of 100 grades during the date of the second round test or the failure test, whether he returned before the end of the year or the year ended and he returned before the specified date for the tests.
The Ministry established the “50% rule” as a dividing standard for high school students who missed the date of the stumbling test, whereby the student is obligated to repeat the school year if his interruption caused him to stumble in more than half of the subjects of the academic year.
But if the stumbling of the student who dropped out did not exceed 50% of the subjects, the Ministry allowed him to be transferred to the next grade, provided that the period in which he missed the subject test of 100 points would be addressed as soon as possible. For second round tests or failure.
These organizational measures come to fill the gaps in previous evaluation systems, and unify procedures between schools and education departments, in a way that guarantees the rights of students who are forced by circumstances to drop out, and at the same time maintains seriousness in academic achievement.
