Rubio: The talks bring us closer to an agreement to end the Russian war

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Sunday that he expects talks with Ukrainian officials to result in “further progress” toward an agreement to end the Russian-Ukrainian war..

“This is not just about peace agreements, this is about finding a path forward that preserves Ukraine’s sovereignty, independence, and prosperity, and so we expect to make more progress today,” Rubio added from Hallandale Beach, Florida, where the talks are taking place.

Ukrainian negotiators, headed by Rustam Umarov, are participating in the meeting, and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is also attending, accompanied by Steve Witkoff, the special envoy, and Jared Kushner, President Donald Trump’s son-in-law.
