Al-Wahda coach flirts with the Khorfakkan team.. “They deserved to qualify.”

Al Wahda coach, Portuguese Jose Moraes, said that his team’s match against Khor Fakkan in the quarter-finals of the Professional League Cup (Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup) was an ideal example of cup matches, with its drama, excitement, and great performance from both teams.
Al-Wahda succeeded in achieving a difficult victory at Khor Fakkan Stadium in the second leg of the quarter-finals with a score of 2-1, after the two teams had tied in the first leg 2-2.
Moraes explained during the press conference: “It was a dramatic match in all its details, and witnessed a wonderful level from both sides. Sometimes football is not fair, as there are teams that perform great and do not get the reward they deserve.”
He added: “Khor Fakkan performed excellently in the two matches, and its players gave their all, but luck was not on their side. If football allowed two teams to pass together, I would wish that for them, because they deserve it.”
He continued: “I tell the Khorfakkan players that they played a very honorable match and they deserved a better result, and I take my hat off to them for what they gave.”
On the other hand, the Portuguese coach pointed out that his team fought until the end, saying: “The players also performed wonderfully, and showed a great desire to turn the result around and qualify. We may have had a greater share of luck in the last moments, but spirit and determination were the key to victory.”
He concluded: “I congratulate the players on this well-deserved qualification. You provided great support and effort in the home and away matches, and you turned the result around today with determination and a strong personality. What you provided deserves respect.”
