Head of the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language: Al Ain Book Festival 2025 embodies the principles of… "General community"

Al Ain, 30 November / WAM / His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Tamim, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center, confirmed that the Al Ain Book Festival, in its current session for the year 2025, represents an exceptional cultural event that aims to translate the principles of the “Year of Society” approved by the wise leadership, indicating that the festival goes beyond its traditional role to be a comprehensive platform for promoting the Arabic language, advancing it, and consolidating the culture of reading among all segments of society, especially children and youth.

Bin Tamim explained in statements to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) that the festival seeks to spread knowledge through various interactive activities that enrich the culture of the new generation and empower young people, pointing out that the event provides huge knowledge content that includes more than 100,000 titles from the latest Arab and international publications, which establishes the leading position of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi culturally and cognitively, and enhances communication between generations and connects them to the authentic Emirati heritage.

With regard to supporting the publishing industry, the head of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center revealed the festival’s keenness to provide all forms of support to Emirati publishers and creators, whether pioneers or young talents, in order to encourage the local industry and highlight national creativity.

He reviewed the most prominent features of the cultural program, stressing that the current session witnessed great momentum by including 400 events and 200 participants, and noted the diversity of events to include the fields of culture, education, arts, heritage, and technology.

He pointed to a number of innovative initiatives launched by the festival, including the “In the Footsteps of Knowledge We Come Together” initiative, which links sports and culture, and the “Discover Your Story” initiative to promote reading among children, in addition to cooperation with youth councils to raise issues of national identity, and allocating programs for people of determination in cooperation with the Zayed Higher Authority for People of Determination, as well as the “Who is for Us” corner, which creates an interactive atmosphere through live culinary arts.

He stressed the importance of the “Nights of Poetry: The Sung Word” program, explaining that the festival dedicated sessions of homage and remembrance to a group of late poets who influenced the popular scene, headed by the late Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Dr. Hazza bin Sultan, and Hamad bin Suhail Al Ketbi, may God have mercy on them, while the winners of the “Generation Treasure” award were honored in its current session, which covers 6 fields of knowledge that emulate the poetic experience of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, in addition to introducing the “Poets of the Future” session to discover promising talents among children.

The head of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center reviewed the digital success indicators for the current session, stressing that they reflect tangible development and continuous growth.

He explained that the festival recorded the participation of 220 publishing houses, including 40 entities participating for the first time, while 10 new innovative initiatives were presented, stressing that these indicators, in addition to the diverse public demand, prove the success of the festival in transforming into a regional and international cultural platform that enhances awareness and pushes the public to participate effectively in cultural dialogue.
