Under the patronage of His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Today, His Royal Highness Prince Miteb bin Mishal bin Badr bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Emir of Al-Jawf Region, inaugurated the works of , in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture for Research and Cultural Heritage, Dr. Maha bint Abdullah Al-Senan.

The forum is organized by the Ministry of Culture in cooperation with the Heritage Authority, and with the participation of the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts "Inherit"It will be held at Al-Jouf Cultural Center in the city of Sakaka over two days, as part of the activities .

The International Forum for Handicrafts

The forum aims to highlight the status of traditional crafts and industries as one of the pillars of national identity and their deep-rooted cultural depth, enhance their presence in daily life, and open horizons for communication between Saudi craftsmen and their counterparts around the world, in addition to examining ways to increase the sector’s contribution to cultural tourism and the national economy.

The forum witnesses the participation of an elite group of specialists, researchers and craftsmen from inside and outside the Kingdom, to be an international platform to discuss contemporary issues related to the handicrafts sector, review the latest scientific studies and research, support innovation in traditional industries, empower craftsmen and enhance their economic presence.

Developing traditional crafts

The program also includes scientific sessions that discuss modern trends in developing traditional crafts, an exhibition of scientific posters that displays the most prominent specialized research, and an exhibition for craftsmen that highlights Their products and creativity, in addition to an accompanying exhibition in which a number of parties participate, and training workshops that contribute to refining the skills of the participants and transferring experiences.

Organizing the forum comes within the efforts of the Ministry of Culture and the Heritage Authority to enhance the sustainability of traditional crafts and industries, preserve the cultural heritage, and consolidate the Saudi identity, in support of the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 in its cultural aspects, by empowering the craft sector and raising its contribution to economic and social development.
