Removal of a 500-meter-long illegal road in the waterway of the Rasheed Branch in Menoufia

The Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation announced the removal of a 500-meter-long illegal road, consisting of fill within the waterway of the Nile River – Rashid Branch – in the village of Abu Dawo in Menoufia Governorate, today, Sunday.
The Ministry of Irrigation stated – in a statement today – that this comes within the framework of continuing removal campaigns in the Rashid Branch, within the “National Project to Control the Nile,” where Dr. Hani Sweilem, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, received a report from the engineer. Hossam Taher, Head of the Nile River Development and Protection Sector and its two branches, regarding the removal campaign that was carried out today, to remove the illegal road.
The statement explained that the entire road is 500 meters long from the Nile River Bridge to the island located inside the stream, and 8 illegal buildings were removed on the path of the road, with a heavy presence of equipment, amid a large security presence from the Menoufia Security Directorate to secure the campaign.
