Arab Cup 2025.. Khribin leads Syria to victory over Tunisia with a stunning goal (video)

Emirati club Al-Wahda striker, Omar Khribin, led the Syrian national team to win over Tunisia with an unanswered goal, in the first round of the first group matches of the 2025 Arab Cup at Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium in Doha.
While the “Eagles of Carthage”, who qualified for the 2026 World Cup, fought as strong favorites to win against the “Eagles of Qasioun”, the Syrian team achieved a resounding surprise by achieving victory, and taking the three points.

The Tunisian team presented a first half with clear offensive features, during which it imposed control over the tempo of the game by 65%, while the Syrian team was content with defensive positioning and relying on counterattacks.
The Tunisian threat began early through Ismail Al-Gharbi, who shot a powerful ball over the crossbar (11), and Mohamed Ali Ben Ramadan also threatened the goal with a dangerous opportunity (13).
The pressure of the Tunisian team continued towards the middle of the half, and an exciting scene emerged when Ismail Al-Gharbi found himself in a comfortable position to score, but his teammate Yassine Meriah intervened in a strange way and deprived his teammate of a ready opportunity in front of the goal in the 35th minute, in one of the strangest moments of the half.
Moataz Al-Nafati continued the attempts of the “Eagles of Carthage” and shot a strong ball that passed near the post in the 38th minute, followed by another attempt from Ben Ramadan, which was blocked firmly by the Syrian goalkeeper, Shaher Al-Shaker (40), before Ali Maaloul concluded the series of Tunisian chances in the first half with a direct free kick that went over the crossbar in the 41st minute.
As for the second half, the Syrian national team witnessed a strong start after Mohamed Al-Salkhadi excelled in leading the team’s attacks, and won a direct free kick, which Al-Wahda star Omar Khribin brilliantly shot into the goal, scoring the first goal (48), while Tunisia almost equalized quickly from an attack that reached Ismail Al-Gharbi, who shot a missile over the crossbar (51).
The Carthage Eagles continued their mounting pressure at the beginning of the second half. Mohamed Ali Ben Ramadan added a new attempt with a powerful shot from outside the penalty area that went past the post in the 64th minute. The offensive momentum increased clearly when Ali Maaloul sent an accurate cross into the area, which Firas Shawat met with a surprise shot, but Syrian goalkeeper Shaher Al-Shaker excelled in clearing it (65), and only minutes passed until Al-Shaker returned to the front again in the minute. 68, after he brilliantly blocked a new shot from Firas Shawat inside the penalty area, while the Syrian national team maintained its lead despite Tunisian attempts to score an equalizer, so the match ended with the victory of “Nusour Qasioun.”
