Sharjah, December 1, 2017 – His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Documentation House in Sharjah, confirmed that December 2, 1971 embodies an immortal moment in the memory of the UAE, as the Founding Fathers, led by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “may God rest his soul,” and his brothers, the rulers of the Emirates, charted the path of the union, believing that unity is the path to strength, prosperity, and a promising future.
On the occasion of the 54th Union Day, His Excellency said that this day brings to mind the journey of a nation that believes that the human being is its true wealth. The UAE has become an oasis of peace, tolerance, leadership and achievement under the banner of a wise leadership that continues the process of giving with confidence and a vision that anticipates the future.
He stressed that the Documentation House in the Emirate of Sharjah renews its pride in its role in preserving the nation’s memory and documenting its journey to keep for future generations a living record that embodies the story of the Union and commemorates the achievements of its leaders who made the Emirates a beacon of civilization and progress. He reiterated the pledge of loyalty to the nation and its leadership and to carry the banner of the Union with all sincerity and responsibility so that the Emirates remains proud in its glory, moving forward with its determination and united in its spirit towards a horizon that knows nothing but glory and prosperity.
