54th Union Day.. The UAE has endless local achievements and an active presence on the global scene

The United Arab Emirates celebrates the 54th Union Day, continuing its journey towards a bright future with more local and global achievements that marked the year 2025, the “Year of Community” under its wise leadership.

The UAE has strengthened its active presence in the international scene, established its position as a significant economic power in the region and the world, and has continued its distinguished contributions in various arenas of humanitarian work, while at the local level, many qualitative achievements have emerged that constitute a new push forward in the process of sustainable development.

International presence
The UAE emphasized the principles of its foreign policy based on strengthening the foundations of global peace and stability, which were embodied by its intensive diplomatic efforts to stop the war on the Gaza Strip, its condemnation of the civil war in Sudan and working to stop it and push for a civilian-led political solution, and its prominent role in defusing the crises that threatened international peace during the current year, as it made many contacts to stop the military escalation between India and Pakistan, and led intensive diplomatic efforts to stop the Israeli attacks on Iran, and contributed It effectively shaped Arab and international public opinion rejecting the Israeli aggression against the sister State of Qatar, in addition to its hosting of the discussions that led to a final cessation of the fighting between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and its continuation of mediation efforts between Russia and Ukraine, which totaled 17 mediations over the course of the crisis between the two countries, which resulted in the exchange of 4,641 prisoners.

The UAE was a major destination for senior leaders and officials in the world who visited the country during the year 2025. In parallel, the UAE recorded a prominent presence in the most important international summits such as the G20 Summit in South Africa, the COP30 in Brazil, the BRICS Summit 2025, and others.

Humanitarian work
The UAE affirmed its global leadership in the humanitarian and development fields, based on its lofty mission and civilizational values, as it was classified as the third largest donor of humanitarian aid in 2025, with a value ($1.46 billion), based on the financial tracking system of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, “FTS UNOCHA,” while the value of humanitarian aid provided by the UAE since the outbreak of the crisis in the Gaza Strip until last November amounted to more than 9.4 billion dirhams. It included sending more than 100,000 tons of supplies and two million gallons of water, as well as the evacuation of about 3,000 patients and treatment facilities in the country.

The UAE continued to support the brotherly Sudanese people, as the value of the aid it provided during the past two years amounted to about 3 billion dirhams, in addition to continuing to support stability, reconstruction, improving services in Yemen, and providing relief to many countries of the world that were exposed to crises and natural disasters during the current year.

Global competitiveness
The UAE has risen to advanced ranks in global competitiveness reports, as it was included in the top five list in the Annual Competitiveness Report 2025 issued by the Global Competitiveness Center, and topped the world for the fourth year in a row in the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor GEM report.

It ranked tenth globally in the Soft Power Index 2025, maintained its regional lead and advanced to 15th place globally in the Human Development Report 2025. It also entered for the first time in the list of the top 10 countries in the world in the Global Talent Report.
