المملكة: On its international day… "King Salman Complex" The Arabic language is celebrated by the United Nations

Launch King Salman International Academy for the Arabic Language holds activities celebrating International Arabic Language Day at the headquarters of the The United Nations in New York City, as an embodiment of the Kingdom’s pioneering role in supporting The Arabic language and to enhance its international presence.
The event held during the period from 2 to 4 December, under the patronage of His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Academy’s Board of Trustees, and in partnership with the Kingdom’s permanent delegation to the United Nations, is part of the Academy’s efforts to enhance the presence of the Arabic language in international and regional organizations, and to consolidate its position as one of the official languages of the United Nations.
The celebration is highlighted through cultural programs and events. And interactivity, the aesthetics of Arabic, and introducing its history and its influence on other cultures, in the midst of a high-ranking presence of United Nations officials, representatives of member states, and a number of specialists and those interested in linguistic and cultural affairs, in order to achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 in supporting cultural identity and promoting cultural understanding.

The Kingdom’s support for the Arabic language

The Secretary-General emphasized For the complex D. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi said that this international celebration comes as an extension of the Kingdom’s pioneering role in supporting its language globally, and an embodiment of the institutional partnership between the Academy and the Kingdom’s delegation to the United Nations, which enhances the presence of Arabic in international forums and highlights Saudi efforts in serving it.
He appreciated the support of the Minister of Culture and his continuous follow-up of everything that contributes to serving the Arabic language and strengthening its position globally.

The celebration includes a scientific and cultural program that includes dialogue sessions discussing the status of the Arabic language in organizations International and its role in building global cultural understanding.
In addition to an introductory exhibition of the complex’s projects and its scientific and cultural publications, and a corner for handicrafts related to Arabic, in an interactive experience that highlights the presence of the language in the international cultural scene.

Developing linguistic tools and standards

This celebration comes as confirmation of the Kingdom’s advanced position in serving The Arabic language globally, and as an extension of the Academy’s efforts to develop linguistic tools and standards, and to activate partnerships with international organizations, to contribute to empowering the Arabic language and enhancing its use in the scientific, cultural, and diplomatic fields.
