المملكة: Saudi Arabia at the Gulf Cooperation Council summit… extended efforts to enhance joint Gulf action

The importance of His Highness the Crown Prince’s participation in the 46th session of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council is that it coincides with developments in events in the region, which requires coordination of positions between the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council in order to support the strengthening of security and stability in The region.
And specified the vision of The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God protect him – to enhance joint Gulf action. The priorities of integration and cooperation among the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council are to enhance joint action through an effective and efficient Gulf system.
It also contributes to maintaining regional and global stability and peace, strengthening the international standing of the Council, and achieving strategic and economic partnerships that benefit the citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the region.
Political and economic challenges

The Cooperation Council worked in harmony with the vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and with a leadership role from the Kingdom, to develop and strengthen dialogues and relations. And strategic partnerships with major countries in the world, as the Council holds regular dialogues with about 16 countries and regional organizations, most notably the United States, China, Russia, India, Brazil, the European Union, and the Association of ASEAN Nations.
The Kingdom contributed effectively to the success of the Kuwaiti presidency of the 45th session of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, keen to activate the partnership with the Council countries in order to achieve the priorities of joint Gulf action.

Also, during the 42nd session of the Cooperation Council, headed by the Kingdom, many important results were achieved in developing trade exchanges with the most prominent trading partners of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, including strengthening the negotiations of free trade agreements for the Cooperation Council with the United Kingdom, China, Korea, India, Australia, and New Zealand, and creating an open trade environment based on global trade rules.
Since its establishment, the Cooperation Council has launched many joint Gulf projects, to support the Gulf economy and contribute to societal development, And raising the quality of life of the people of the GCC countries.
The most prominent of these are the electrical interconnection project, approving the establishment of the Railway Authority, to connect the member states, facilitating commercial movement and population movement, establishing the Gulf Payments Company, linking the Gulf central banks, establishing and developing the Gulf Health Council, the Gulf Center for Disease Prevention and Control, and issuing unified laws related to food safety.
