Amid intense competition, Amr Diab tops the Spotify list in Egypt

With the end of 2025 approaching, Spotify issued its official list of the most listened to works, albums and songs in Egypt. This year, the platform’s data reflected the diversity of musical tastes, and the serious entry of new artists into the competition. Indeed, a number of them topped – in a way that may be surprising to some – a number of the most listened to lists.
The competition intensified greatly between the two stars: Amr Diab and Tamer Ashour, for the title of the most listened to by the audience, and each of them topped certain categories, but Diab was able to be the most listened to artist in Egypt, in general.

Marwan Pablo
Rising faces:
Despite the tremendous success achieved by Amr Diab’s latest album, “We Started,” which topped the lists of the most-streamed artists in Egypt for the year 2025, Spotify’s lists included a large number of emerging singers, whose artistic works have begun to reshape the music scene in Egypt, especially since they have great abilities to communicate with the audience and are very popular, such as: Marwan Pablo, Ligi-C, Wiggs, and Toulette, and two festival stars: Essam, also stand out. Sasa and Islam Kabonga are firmly on the list this year.
In addition to these, the list included the names of well-known Egyptian artists, including: Tamer Ashour, Rami Sabry, and Bahaa Sultan, who have voices that have always been close to the audience, carried their feelings, and sang to them with sincerity and love.

Kabonga Islam
Islam Kabonga is a surprise:
The song “I am not a dealer, ya government,” by emerging artist Islam Kabonga, topping the list of the most listened to songs in Egypt for the year 2025 was a major surprise after this song surpassed many works by major artists released in the same year, which confirms the growing influence of new art and rising generations in Egyptian music, and its increasing acceptance among different segments of the audience.
In second place for the most listened to songs were: Mustafa Al-Jin and Hadi Al-Saghir (Team Al-Ebdaa) with the songs: “The Bogeyman of My Circle” and “The Breathless (Mahtout Tashkeel).”
The song “Walk” by Tommy with Rally was chosen as one of the most popular moments this year, and Issam Sasa was strongly present among the selections through his song “Content and we went into the grinder – he slandered.. and rectify his hair, Laura,” which confirms the extent of the audience’s acceptance of this type of work.

Tamer Ashour
The familiar faces of the audience, which they have known for many years, were not absent from the list of the most listened to. The emotional works of Tamer Ashour emerged with his songs: “Makrahtoosh” and “Hejili Moujou.” Bahaa Sultan was also on the list through his song “My Companion, My Companion.” I found Ligi-C’s song “If He Forgets Me,” which he performed with Ismail Nosrat, on the list where the last song was “Masquerade” by Rahma Mohsen.
In Egypt… Al-Masry leads:
No singing genre can compete with the Egyptian in Egypt, and Spotify’s selection of the most listened to albums in Egypt confirms this rule. Tamer Ashour topped the list with his album “Yah,” followed in second place by “We Started” by Amr Diab. The rising artist, Mond, was able to win third place with his album “Origins: Before the Intifada,” Cairokee’s album “Roma” ranked fourth, and finally Tawalet with his album “Narine.”
