Anne Hathaway stars in the movie “Mother Mary” with a group of stars, most notably: Michaela Coel, Hunter Schafer, Athena Frizzell, Kaia Gerber, Jessica Brown Findlay, Isora Barbie-Brown, Alba Baptista, and Sean Clifford. The film is written and directed by David Lowery, and features original songs written by Jack Antonoff, Charli XCX, and FKA Twigs.
Hathaway had previously stated that her character in the movie “Mother Mary” combines the personalities of two international pop stars: Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift, according to a recent press interview.
In the teaser promo for the film, Anne Hathaway appears in the role of a fictional pop singer called “Mother Mary,” who reconnects with her old friend and former fashion designer, “Sam Anselm,” in order to help her create the perfect look for her return to the stage, but this meeting brings old, buried conflicts to the surface.
The scene depicts a mixture of personal sadness and the pressures of artistic creativity, as Anne Hathaway’s character appears embarking on a journey to discover herself, amidst a feeling of existential terror. Although the story revolves around the return of relations between the two friends, the promo of the teaser suggests that there is something great at stake that goes beyond the story of a pop star’s return to the stage, but rather indicates dark, supernatural dimensions.

Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep in the second part of the movie “The Devil Wears Prada 2”
It seems that star Anne Hathaway will compete with herself in films in 2026, as she will appear in the second part of the movie “The Devil Wears Prada 2” alongside star Meryl Streep, which is scheduled to be released in May 2026.
The teaser promo for the movie “The Devil Wears Prada 2” revealed exciting glimpses of its upcoming events, as Miranda Priestly, played by international star Meryl Streep, appeared walking with confident steps next to the elevator, wearing red shoes with sharp heels signed by “Valentino.” In a striking scene, Andy Sachs, played by Anne Hathaway, joins her, showing her character’s transformation in a remarkable way, as she is no longer the simple, lost assistant, but has become a strong, independent woman, with a sharp look that almost rivals that of the editor-in-chief herself.
Miranda Priestly, the character who inspired fashion lovers around the world, also returns in full glory, while Madonna’s song “Vogue” plays in the background of the advertisement, in a direct reference to the original film.
