"MENA Biofuels" and"Cyplot" They cooperate to establish the first laboratory to certify sustainable aviation fuel in Fujairah

Abu Dhabi, 5 December / WAM / MENA Biofuels Company signed an agreement with Cyplot International, the world leader in testing, inspection and certification services, following strategic meetings during the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference, ADIPEC 2025, with the aim of establishing the first independent laboratory in the UAE specialized in testing and certification of sustainable aviation fuels.
This cooperation reflects the continued momentum achieved by MENA Biofuels’ participation and its progress towards developing an integrated value chain for sustainable aviation fuel, which includes the collection of raw materials, production, testing, certification and purchasing agreements.
The laboratory will be established within the oil industries zone in the Emirate of Fujairah, where it will operate in accordance with the highest international standards, and will provide independent verification and certification services to ensure that fuel produced in the UAE conforms to the standards of the global aviation sector, whether for local use or for export.
His Excellency Mohammed Saeed Al Raqbani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of MENA Biofuels, said that cooperation with Cyplot reinforces the company’s commitment to building a transparent and reliable system for sustainable aviation fuel, explaining that the establishment of this laboratory in Fujairah ensures that every liter of fuel produced locally is tested and certified according to the highest international standards.
For his part, Ghazi Al-Jubouri, CEO of MENA Biofuels, said that this cooperation reflects the tangible progress achieved since the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference, as it combines technology, experience and a shared vision to ensure that fuel produced in the UAE conforms to the highest standards related to quality and sustainability.
For his part, Peter Box, President of Cyplot International, said that cooperation with MENA Biofuels represents a pivotal step towards establishing an integrated analysis system for sustainable aviation fuels in the region.
He added that the new laboratory in Fujairah will be equipped with the latest equipment and will operate in accordance with approved international standards, allowing the analysis of the technical characteristics of fuel, tracking the sources of raw materials, and verifying emissions at the life cycle level.
He explained that Cyplot, by providing independent certification and accurate quality assurance services, will contribute to supporting regulatory compliance, enhancing global trade, and consolidating the credibility of the value chain for sustainable aviation fuel in the UAE.
This agreement comes as a continuation of a group of important partnerships announced by MENA Biofuels during the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference and the Dubai Airshow, which included memorandums of understanding for future purchase agreements with Emarat, ENOC, ADNOC and Evertree, establishing an integrated framework that includes raw materials, production, testing, certification and distribution.
Together, these initiatives confirm the UAE’s leadership in innovation in the field of sustainable fuels and efforts to decarbonize the aviation sector globally.
This achievement represents an additional step in MENA Biofuels’ journey towards operating the first commercial facility for the production of sustainable aviation fuel in the UAE within the Emirate of Fujairah, thus strengthening the emirate’s position as a leading regional center for innovation in the field of clean fuels, specialized accreditation, and quality assurance that conforms to export standards.
