Ajman, 5 December / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, Chairman of the Executive Council, opened the activities of the third edition of the “Al Murabbaa Arts Festival” in the Heritage Path area in Ajman.

The festival is part of the map of events taking place in Ajman, which contribute to enhancing the cultural and creative presence of the emirate, through an event that combines the authenticity of the place with the spirit of contemporary artistic innovation.

His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi stressed that Ajman is taking confident steps towards building an incubating environment for creativity, providing local and international talents with broad opportunities for expression and innovation, noting that the “Al Murabbaa Arts Festival” embodies the emirate’s vision of enhancing the role of culture and the arts as a major pillar within the comprehensive development process.

He added that organizing the festival embodies Ajman’s commitment to supporting the creative movement, highlighting the cultural and aesthetic value of the emirate, and transforming heritage areas into vibrant platforms that bring together the past with the spirit of the present and the future.

His Highness the Crown Prince of Ajman said that the emirate pays great attention to culture as an essential element in enhancing the quality of life, consolidating national identity, and supporting creative industries, which are one of the pillars of the modern economy, praising the level of broad participation of artists from the Emirates and from various countries of the world.

His Highness continued: “We are proud that the Al Murabbaa Arts Festival will be a meeting point for creative people and a platform for launching new works that contribute to enriching the artistic scene, support the ambitions of young people, and provide them with wide spaces to explore their abilities and hone their skills.”

His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi stressed that the growing interest witnessed in the festival reflects the advanced cultural status that the emirate has reached, and the attractive and stimulating environment it provides for innovation in various creative fields.

He said: “We will continue to support cultural initiatives that enhance Ajman’s presence on the global arts map, open new horizons for talent, and highlight the emirate’s message as a destination vibrant with both heritage and modernity.”

The opening ceremony was witnessed by Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Head of the Department of Tourism, Culture and Media, Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Head of the Municipality and Planning Department, Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, and His Excellency Yousef Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Department of Protocol and Hospitality, along with a number of sheikhs, senior officials and general managers, and a large audience of art lovers, in addition to an elite group of local and international artists participating in the festival.

During his speech at the opening ceremony, Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi stressed that Ajman continues to enhance its cultural presence through qualitative initiatives that contribute to developing the artistic scene and improving the quality of life.

He added that the Al Murabbaa Arts Festival has become a shining cultural landmark on the emirate’s map, a bridge linking our authentic heritage and spaces of contemporary creativity, and a platform that embraces artistic experiences from various parts of the world.

He stressed that the festival enhances Ajman’s role as a leading cultural destination that embraces local and international talent, presents a renewed artistic vision that blends heritage and modernity, and opens broader horizons for creativity in various fields of arts.

For his part, His Excellency Mahmoud Khalil Al Hashemi, Director General of the Department of Tourism, Culture and Information, explained that the festival has become an annual event that brings together creative energies from various artistic schools, providing the public with a rich cultural experience that varies between visual works, live performances and performing arts.

He added that the festival, in its current edition, pays great attention to young talents, by providing large spaces for them to appear and interact with the audience.

The festival derives its name from the historic “Al Murabbaa Tower” located on the Ajman Corniche, which was built in the 1930s to be a watch and protection tower, indicating the event’s connection to the architectural and cultural identity of the emirate.

This year’s third edition offers a diverse artistic program that includes live drawing workshops, interactive studios for children, and exhibitions in drawing, sculpture, photography, and Arabic calligraphy, in addition to light shows and heritage performances presented by popular Emirati bands.

More than 150 international artists from the Emirates, China, Egypt, Lebanon, Peru, France, Syria, Iran, Algeria, Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Russia, Bhutan, Bahrain, Pakistan, and India are participating in the festival, which reflects its growing status as an international platform for creative people to meet and exchange experiences.

The festival also supports entrepreneurs through more than 30 innovative projects, the owners of which receive distinguished opportunities to present and interact with the public, as part of the festival’s keenness to empower innovators and enhance the innovation system in the emirate.
