Yas Marina Circuit witnesses the Masters of historic racing for the first time

Abu Dhabi, 5 December / WAM / The organizing committee of the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Grand Prix announced that the “Masters Historic Racing Series” will join the Yas Marina Circuit for the first time, bringing with it a group of famous Formula 1 cars from the era of 3-liter engines to participate in the program of the final round of the season, as the final races are held over the course of two days, Saturday and Sunday.
This participation comes as an official support race during the global event, as it gives fans a rare opportunity to see these historic cars returning to compete on one of the most prominent motorsport platforms in the world.
The “Masters Racing Legends” collection presents cars from the years 1966-1985 through two races that celebrate the history of motorsport, as it includes pioneering cars in “ground effect” technology, classic cars powered by the DFV engine (the famous Cosworth engine), as well as some of the most influential designs in the history of Formula 1.
This year’s field of racers also includes well-known international names, including former Formula 1 race winner Thierry Boutsen, Le Mans podium finisher Jan Mardenborough, French commentator-turned-driver Julien Vibro, European Endurance Series (ELMS) champion Oliver James Webb, and 2013 GTE Am World Endurance Champion Stuart Hall.
