Dubai Police arrests a tourist who used a vehicle in a dangerous manner

Dubai Police were able to arrest a tourist and impound a rented vehicle that he used in a dangerous display on one of the curves of Sheikh Zayed Road, threatening the safety of road users with his reckless driving, after a video clip was circulated on social media, showing the vehicle suddenly swerving and causing dangerous slides that are considered legally unacceptable and life-threatening behavior.

In detail, the Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, Brigadier General Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, explained that the seizure teams in the General Department of Traffic, in cooperation with the Electronic Investigation Department of the General Department of Criminal Investigation and Investigation, seized the vehicle after observing the driver making reckless display movements, bragging about his driving abilities, and putting his life and the lives of road users in direct danger.

Brigadier General Juma bin Suwaidan explained that this type of behavior is considered a serious violation that poses a direct danger to drivers and passers-by alike, stressing that, through evidentiary procedures, it was found that the driver came to the country as a tourist, and that the vehicle belonged to a car rental office.

He continued: “Dubai Police took legal measures and seized the vehicle in accordance with the applicable deterrent procedures, and based on the Federal Traffic Law, which criminalizes driving a vehicle in a way that endangers the life of the driver or the lives, safety and security of others. The relevant legal article stipulates that the violator will be punished with a fine of 2,000 dirhams, the registration of 23 traffic points, in addition to the vehicle being impounded for a period of 60 days.
