From humanitarian work to screen… Angelina Jolie is the heroine of Sunny

American star Angelina Jolie is preparing to return to exciting and action roles through her new movie, Sunny, in an exciting cinematic experience in which she embodies the character of a woman from the world of gangs who enters a race against time to protect her two children from a violent drug lord, on an escape trip during which she only has a few hours to secure their future.

The film was launched under the leadership of actress and producer Maria, and is directed by Eva Sorhaug, with production support from Grammercy Park Media, I, Higher Standard, and Nickel City Pictures, while the script was written by William De Frank in cooperation with the team.

In his comment, Frank Fasano from Nickel City Pictures confirmed that the audience will be in for great surprises related to the role of motherhood in a world dominated by violence, noting that the film highlights how a mother becomes the first line of defense for her children, even if it costs her to go through the most dangerous adventures.

For his part, Nathan Klinger from Grammercy Park Media praised Angelina Jolie’s return to the screen through a work that simultaneously embodies her human dimension and artistic depth, considering that the film provides a different experience from other traditional action films, through its focus on the psychological and emotional details of the characters.

The announcement of the project coincided with Angelina Jolie’s visit to Ukraine last November, where she combined cinematic work with a humanitarian role, as her visit focused on supporting the medical and educational sectors, and reviewing the conditions of shelters. She said in one of her statements: “The people of Mykolaiv and Kherson live in daily danger, but they refuse to surrender… Their strength and togetherness are humbling.”

With this, Angelina Jolie continues to confirm her career that combines art and humanitarian commitment, in a rare equation that links her cinematic roles with reality, and through which she embodies the image of the artist who sees in cinema a message that goes beyond the boundaries of the screen.
