This move was based on the outcomes of joint coordination between government agencies, as the Ministry stated that the study of electrical loads showed the existence of precise technical requirements and factors that must be taken into account to determine the possibility of connecting poultry farms to the public network, which requires submitting applications officially to enable the Saudi Electricity Company to conduct detailed technical feasibility studies for each project separately.

The Ministry confirmed in a circular addressed to the Federation of Saudi Chambers that registration in the “Liquid Fuel Displacement Program” is the procedural step. basic requirements to ensure the allocation of the necessary electrical energy to facilities, stressing the need for investors to complete the application procedures with the Ministry of Energy to obtain the fuel and energy allocations required for sustainable operation.

This step aims to raise the efficiency of the poultry sector and reduce operating costs based on traditional fuels, while ensuring the stability of electrical supplies for vital projects that contribute to food security, in accordance with the environmental and economic standards of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

The Union of Saudi Chambers sent an invitation to those concerned in the sector to communicate directly with the secretariat of the relevant committee in the event of inquiries, to ensure speedy compliance with the new requirements and to avoid any obstacles that may face electrical connection operations in the future.
