Global Harmony 2.. Fashion and handicrafts are an important window into Filipino culture

Saw the wings of Filipino Culture Participation in the Global Harmony 2, organized by Ministry of Information in cooperation with General Entertainment Authority and the Quality of Life Programme, have attracted a large number of visitors to learn about various aspects of Filipino life, from traditional costumes and folk dancing to handicrafts and decorations.

The event held in Al Suwaidi Park, one of the areas of the Riyadh Season, includes 8 pavilions that vary between methods of making traditional costumes, shaping shells, and making jewelry and adornments.

In addition to displaying handmade art pieces, which gave visitors the opportunity to see Filipino crafts. Authentic and direct interaction with their makers.

The richness of local Filipino communities

The Philippines is distinguished by its diverse handicrafts that reflect the richness of local communities and their ancient cultures, as they combine artistic beauty, manual skill, and traditions passed down through generations, using natural materials such as bamboo, abaca, wood, and seashells.
As part of its musical program, the initiative today witnessed the holding of many musical and popular performances with the participation of Filipino artists and influencers, amid remarkable interaction. From fans of Filipino art of various nationalities.

The Philippine Culture Days offers daily activities ranging from musical and entertainment performances and children’s games, in addition to handicrafts and various food tasting experiences.

11 Global Cultures

It is noteworthy that the Global Harmony 2 initiative has allowed its visitors to learn about 11 global cultures so far, while it is preparing to celebrate three other cultures in continuation of the cultural diversity journey that began early last November.
/>The initiative is a pioneering platform that brings together international cultures residing in the Kingdom in one space, and contributes to enhancing communication between residents and highlighting the cultural diversity that characterizes the Kingdom.
