المملكة: "Food and medicine" A commercial establishment is referred to the Public Prosecution for trading in illegal medical devices
The Saudi Food and Drug Authority referred a commercial facility to the Public Prosecution, for trading and selling medical devices for a purpose contrary to what they were manufactured for without obtaining prior approval from the Authority, which guarantees the quality and safety of using those devices, as this act is considered a violation of the provisions of the Devices Law And medical supplies.
Continuous monitoring of violations
The authority confirmed that it will not tolerate any violations affecting Safety and health of consumers or endanger their lives, indicating that the penalties stipulated in the system amount to imprisonment for a period not exceeding (10) years, or a fine not exceeding (10) million riyals.
It stressed its commitment to implementing And effective regulatory systems aiming to enhance the safe use of medical devices and supplies, calling on all establishments to adhere to the approved systems and regulations to ensure the safety and effectiveness of their products, and to avoid the statutory penalties resulting from violating the provisions of the system, while urging consumers to report any violations via the unified number (19999).
