Days before its launch… Details and events of the Jeddah Book Fair 2025
Preparing Literature, Publishing and Translation Authority to organize Jeddah Book Fair 2025, which will be held from December 11 to 20 in "Jeddah Super Dome"With the participation of more than 1,000 local and international publishing houses and agencies, representing 24 countries, distributed among 400 pavilions.
The exhibition hosts an elite group of writers, thinkers and intellectuals from inside and outside the Kingdom, presenting its visitors over a period of ten days with a diverse cultural programme, covering the literary, cognitive and scientific spectrum.
The CEO of the Literature, Publishing and Translation Authority, Dr. Abdul Latif bin Abdulaziz Al-Wasil, explained that the Jeddah Book Fair constitutes a prominent cultural station, reflecting the rapid growth witnessed by the literature, publishing and translation sector, and continuous support from the wise leadership, stressing that the exhibition is one of the most prominent cultural platforms supporting the goals of Vision 2030, by promoting creative industries and knowledge mobility.
He pointed out the Authority’s keenness to provide an integrated knowledge experience, including interactive programs and events directed at publishers, authors, translators, and the public, as part of a package of initiatives that raise the quality of content creation and support the creative environment, indicating that the exhibition contributes to strengthening knowledge partnerships, empowering publishers, and stimulating investment in the publishing sector, in addition to consolidating the Kingdom’s position as a cultural center that attracts elite publishing houses and content makers from various countries.
A cultural display that supports heritage
The exhibition presents a cultural program that reflects the richness of the Kingdom’s cultural heritage, including more than 170 events, including lectures, seminars and workshops, in addition to the activities of the children’s area, which are designed to meet the interests of different age groups, while paying special attention to children through a dedicated area that includes literary, cultural and entertainment activities, and competitions aimed at inspiring children and adolescents, developing their passion for reading and discovery, and honing their talents.
The Jeddah Book Fair enhances the Authority’s efforts to support cultural creativity, by providing an incubating environment for the local publishing industry, and enabling Saudi writers to highlight their production, through the Saudi Author’s Corner dedicated to self-publishing, where hundreds of titles are displayed in various literary, cognitive, and cultural fields.
Book signing platforms also provide an opportunity for readers to meet their favorite authors and obtain special gifts, while cultural bodies, community institutions, and universities display their new publications and initiatives.
The world of imagination
The exhibition features a section dedicated to the worlds of creativity and imagination in the Mangaand anime, it includes collectibles, figures, and characters from the world of manga, in addition to specialized books. It also devotes a section to discounted books with the aim of enhancing reading and making them available through various options.
It is noteworthy that the Jeddah Book Fair 2025 comes under the slogan: "Grandmother is reading"emanating from the campaign "Saudi Arabia is reading" Which was launched by the Authority to enhance the passion for reading and knowledge among various segments of society, support culture and creativity, and open the way for readers to interact with creators and authors, thus contributing to enriching the literary and intellectual scene in the Kingdom.
