The Speaker of the Arab Parliament condemns the Israeli occupation forces’ storming of the UNRWA headquarters in Jerusalem

Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, condemned, in the strongest terms, the heinous crime committed by the Israeli occupation forces by storming the headquarters of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the city of East Jerusalem, considering this act a blatant and direct assault on the United Nations and its international legitimacy, and a flagrant violation of all international laws and conventions without any deterrence or respect for society.

 

Al-Yamahi stressed, in a statement today, that these aggressive practices come within the framework of a systematic war waged by the occupation to dry up UNRWA’s resources, directly targeting its humanitarian mission of providing services to millions of Palestinian refugees, and a new attempt to undermine its international role, end its work, and deprive the Palestinian people of their basic rights, stressing that storming the headquarters of a United Nations organization operating under The flag of the United Nations is a full-fledged international crime, and the international community and the United Nations must take immediate action to stop the occupation’s chaos, which now threatens all the rules of the international system.

 

Al-Yamahi demanded taking deterrent international measures against the occupation, and ensuring immediate and complete protection for the headquarters of international organizations and their workers, blaming the “entity” for The occupation takes full responsibility for this dangerous escalation and its consequences on regional stability and international security, stressing that the Arab Parliament will continue its political and diplomatic movements to expose these violations and hold their perpetrators accountable at the international level.
