Under the directives of the Crown Prince of Fujairah, 200 students were trained as part of the Mental Arithmetic Challenge initiative
Fujairah, December 9, 2017 – Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, the training of 200 male and female students from various schools in the emirate was launched as part of the “Mental Arithmetic Challenge” initiative, as part of an advanced development program aimed at raising their mental arithmetic skills to higher levels.
The program focuses on qualifying students through advanced training that includes deeper mental and abstract skills, under the supervision of the Smart Brain Center, which specializes in developing arithmetic and mental abilities, as part of a comprehensive preparation for arithmetic competitions aimed at highlighting the elite students capable of achieving high results in fast and accurate mental arithmetic.
In this regard, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Director of the Office of His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah, confirmed that this initiative embodies the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, in sustainable investment in competencies and talents, and building a generation capable of competing and contributing to future development paths, by providing quality programs that enhance the mental and skill capabilities of young people.
Al-Zeyoudi said: “This program represents a pivotal step, through which we work to provide qualitative training that raises students’ skills to advanced levels, and gives them the ability to take on challenges with confidence and competence. Working with this elite group of students reflects the emirate’s commitment to empowering the distinguished and creating an educational environment that supports mental and cognitive creativity.”
Al-Zeyoudi added that the Fujairah government continues to support specific initiatives that enhance the quality of education, and is keen to expand programs that contribute to building students’ skills and developing their critical thinking and ability to solve problems, in line with future aspirations.
The Mental Arithmetic Initiative is an advanced applied model that combines modern training methods and the results of scientific research in developing mental abilities, ensuring that students are prepared with confidence, and the excellence and creativity curriculum is established in the emirate’s schools.
At the conclusion of the program, the students’ performance will be evaluated according to precise criteria, and the best among them will be selected to participate in advanced competitions specialized in mental arithmetic skills, which aim to highlight their exceptional abilities and enhance the spirit of challenge and positive competition among them.
