Al Owais House in Diriyah… The history of Najdi mud architecture

The house underwent a comprehensive rehabilitation and restoration process, carried out meticulously to preserve its original architectural style and traditional decorative elements, so that it could return to life after years of neglect.

Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Owais, one of the people of the region interested in heritage, took the initiative to bear the responsibility of rehabilitating and restoring this historical landmark, out of his belief in the importance of preserving heritage buildings as part of the national identity, and his efforts contributed to transforming the house from an old building into a cultural destination open to visitors.

The architectural design of Al Owais House clearly shows the characteristics of the ancient Najdi style, which is characterized by its use of local natural materials such as clay, plaster, and palm trunks in construction.

Restoration process
