ABU DHABI, 9 DECEMBER / WAM / The “Arabic Days” festival will be held in its third session, from 13 to 15 December at Manarat Al Saadiyat, under the slogan “We Are Arab”, organized by the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language, affiliated with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi.
This year’s session presents an expanded program that celebrates the Arabic language as a fundamental pillar of creative and cognitive expression, reflecting its presence in the contemporary cultural scene, while preserving its originality and depth linked to identity and creativity.
The “Ayyam al-Arabiya” festival celebrates the richness of the Arabic language and its creative diversity, welcoming all visitors, whether Arabic speakers or non-Arabic speakers, through musical performances and dialogue through immersive experiences, artistic performances, and contemporary works that revive the language, so that “Ayyam al-Arabiya” becomes a general platform for artists and performers, professional and emerging, for whom the Arabic language and its influence constitute the tool of their creativity.
The festival includes a diverse program of dialogue sessions and story gatherings held in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Foundation for Culture and Arts (ADMAF), with the participation of an elite group of cultural figures, poets, filmmakers, researchers and musicians from the Arab world.
These sessions address various topics, including the development of the art of stanzas and its influence on poetic and musical traditions, the relationship between sound, memory and identity, the contributions of young people to enriching the Arab film industry, the aesthetics of the Arabic language in literature and the arts, and the symbolism of the Arabian horse and the ancient cultural heritage it represents.
Musical performances and interactive experiences are designed to suit audiences of all ages, while the festival invites visitors to discover the Arabic language as a language full of rhythm, expression and style.
The festival also hosts a three-day storytelling training program in cooperation with CNN Arabic, which provides young content makers with practical skills in building narratives and developing digital content.
In addition to its distinguished programs, the festival hosts artists whose musical backgrounds vary from modern, classical, and even Andalusian music music.
The activities also include a two-day conference in partnership with New York University Abu Dhabi entitled: “Innovation supported by artificial intelligence in teaching international languages: an educational and applied approach,” which includes practical applied workshops aimed at providing teachers with strategies for employing artificial intelligence techniques in developing innovative educational materials for the Arabic language.
His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Tamim, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center, said that the “Ayyam al-Arabiya” festival, which coincides with UNESCO’s celebration of the International Arabic Language Day, embodies our vision that language is a driving force for the future, and an essential source of innovation. It constitutes an effective factor in creating a balance between rich heritage and cognitive innovation. Let us confirm the position of our Arabic language in the research and creative fields.
He added that the festival constitutes an open invitation to all members of society, to develop our relationship with our mother language, so that it is based on pride, awareness, imagination, and the realization that Arabic has the necessary tools to be part of the major transformations that the world is witnessing.
Through cooperation with the Creative Media Authority in Abu Dhabi, Arab cinema will have a prominent presence this year, through a group of short films produced by graduates of the Arab Film Studio, one of the initiatives of the Creative Lab, the talent development arm of the authority.
The films are distinguished by their family-friendly nature, and their treatment of topics of identity, culture and lifestyles in modern societies. A number of speakers from the Arab Film Studio will participate in discussion sessions that shed light on Arab narrative and cinema.
The festival enhances youth participation, as it is a vital platform that celebrates creativity, innovation and cultural identity, and through activities led by young creators and partnerships with emerging Emirati and local institutions, as the program reinforces the commitment of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center to empower the next generation and consolidate pride in the Arabic language and its heritage. It also brings together prominent cultural partners and long-standing community institutions.
Visitors will also enjoy a trip with the “Enchanting Arabian Perfumes” exhibition, where they will discover the ancient heritage of the Arab perfume industry, learn about its origins, and also participate in workshops based on its traditional recipes.
It is worth noting that the Arabian Days Festival won the Mohammed bin Rashid Award for the Arabic Language for the year 2025, in the category of the best initiative to promote the culture of reading and the knowledge society, confirming its role in promoting culture, thought and the knowledge society.
