After an absence of 3 years… Fadia Abdel Ghani returns in Ramadan

Respect for the march and absence due to weak roles
Speaking to Al Arabiya Net, Abdel Ghani explained that her stay away from the limelight was not a withdrawal, but rather a respect for her art and history, which includes more than 134 works between television, radio, and cinema. She added that the changing features of the artistic community and the emergence of new generations with different ideas, in addition to the weakness of the roles that were offered to her, prompted her to apologize for several works despite her desire to participate in Ramadan drama, which made her prefer to stay at home waiting for a role that suits her.
“The Shepherd’s Boys” brings it back to the screen
Abdel Ghani revealed that a call from director Mahmoud Kamel and producer Raymond Makar brought her back to the scene, after she was nominated for a major role in the series, where she embodies the character of a woman over sixty who suffers from psychosis.
She described the role as difficult and dependent on precise human feelings, stressing that a psychotic patient needs special treatment and continuous support, and that she sympathizes with the character and seeks to present it as honestly as possible so that the performance will gain the audience’s appreciation.
Bahia is still closest to her heart
Regarding the roles closest to her, she pointed to the character “Bahia” in the series “Souq Al-Asr”, which represented a major shift in her career, given the role’s combination of lightness and the harshness of the circumstances that the character went through.
It is noteworthy that Fadia Abdel Ghani was born in 1961 in Ismailia, graduated from the Higher Institute of Cinema in 1984, and presented prominent works such as: “Souk Al-Asr,” “Disobedience,” “Al-Watad,” “Nasm Rabi’ Al-Akhir,” and “Al-Mal wal-Banoun.”
