Iraq is a strong opponent that does not give gifts… and Jordan’s character will appear more clearly

The Jordanian national team’s coach, Moroccan Jamal Salami, said that Jordan’s ambition is to qualify for the semi-finals of the Arab Cup in Doha, even though the national team will face tomorrow, Friday, in the quarter-finals, a strong opponent that does not give gifts to its competitors, which is the Iraqi national team. He stressed that winning over Iraq requires great seriousness, considering that the character of the Jordanian national team will appear more clearly in the coming days, stressing that what is coming is the most important for them, and the need to avoid making mistakes.

Salami added during the introductory press conference for the match, which was held today, Thursday: “The Iraqi national team cannot be judged by its last match against Algeria.”

The Jordanian coach pointed out that the real opponent for them is themselves, stressing the importance of avoiding mistakes and maintaining the same seriousness with which the team played its previous matches.

Salami revealed that the Jordanian team achieved its goals in the first stage, as it developed its technical performance and gained greater personality and confidence, considering that that stage has ended, and that thinking is now focused on the next step.
