The UAE wins its first medal in the Asian Youth Paralympics

He scored UAE national team player for people of determination Thani Al Shehhi won the first medal for our team in the Asian Youth Paralympic Games, currently being held in Dubai, after winning a bronze medal in table tennis for the T3 category, in a tournament in which 1,500 athletes from 35 countries participated.
Al Shehhi came third in the competition, while Japan’s Keita Guayu won first place and the gold medal, and Yi Wei from Chinese Taipei won second place and the silver medal.
The President of the Asian Paralympic Committee, Majed Al-Osaimi, congratulated the team player on his efforts, stressing that this achievement represents an important motivation for him to continue developing and achieving future goals.
For his part, Secretary General of the National Paralympic Committee and head of the delegation, Theban Al Muhairi, confirmed that the achievements of people of determination are the result of the support of the wise leadership, which was reflected positively in their presence on the podiums, pointing out that the table tennis bronze medal reflects the continued interest in developing the game and enabling its players to achieve distinguished results.
The UAE is participating in the tournament with 51 male and female players in 8 sports, including boccia, athletics, badminton, powerlifting, swimming, table tennis, wheelchair basketball, and arm wrestling, among the 11 sports approved for the event.
