Abdullah bin Zayed and the Chinese Foreign Minister stressed in a joint statement the depth of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries

In response to the invitation of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, visited the United Arab Emirates on December 12 and 13, and views were exchanged in-depth on the overall bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and peoples and issues of common interest.
The two sides indicated that the comprehensive strategic partnership relations between the two countries witnessed positive developments in all fields, in a way that meets the aspirations of the leadership and peoples of the two countries for progress and prosperity. The two sides agreed to implement the important agreements reached during the visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, โmay God protect him,โ to the Peopleโs Republic of China and his meeting with the President of the Peopleโs Republic of China, Xi Jinping, in May 2024, within the framework of the joint endeavor to advance bilateral relations towards broader horizons in all respects. The Chinese side expressed its firm support for the United Arab Emirates in maintaining its sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.
The UAE side affirmed its firm commitment to the one-China principle, that Taiwan is an integral part of Chinese territory, its firm support for the Chinese government’s efforts to achieve the reunification of the country, and its rejection of the interference of external forces in China’s internal affairs.
The Chinese side also expressed its support for the efforts of the United Arab Emirates to reach a peaceful solution to the dispute over the three islands of Greater Tunb, Lesser Tunb and Abu Musa, through bilateral negotiations in accordance with the rules of international law, including the Charter of the United Nations.
The Chinese side praised the development achievements achieved by the UAE in all fields, expressing its readiness to deepen alignment between the โBelt and Roadโ initiative, the โWe Are the Emirates 2031โ vision, and the โPreparing for the Fiftyโ plan, and to work together to advance development to the highest levels.
The UAE side praised the successful holding of the Fourth Plenary Session of the Twentieth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, considering that this important session will promote China’s high-quality development and cooperation based on mutual benefit and common interests of the international community.
The UAE side expressed its appreciation for what was proposed by the President of the People’s Republic of China regarding the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative, and the Global Governance Initiative. The Chinese side called on the UAE side to participate and cooperate within the framework of the four global initiatives.
The two sides also expressed their great appreciation for the positive results achieved within the framework of practical cooperation between the two countries in all fields, stressing their readiness to enhance cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment, oil, natural gas, renewable energy, water, infrastructure, technology, research and science, enhancing cooperation in the military fields, law enforcement, combating extremism and terrorism, and intensifying exchange in the fields of teaching the Chinese language, tourism and civil aviation, in a way that continually enriches the components of the comprehensive strategic partnership relations between the two countries.
The UAE side expressed its support for the Chinese side to host the second China-Arab summit in 2026, and its support for holding the second summit between China and the Gulf Cooperation Council in parallel, stressing its readiness to make joint efforts with the Chinese side to make the two summits a complete success. The Chinese side stressed its readiness to work with the UAE side to complete negotiations on the China-Gulf free trade agreement as soon as possible.
The two sides renewed their joint commitment to achieving a comprehensive, just and lasting peace based on the two-state solution, leading to the establishment of an independent, sovereign and viable Palestinian state, living side by side with Israel in security and peace, in accordance with the borders of June 4, 1967, international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.
They also expressed their appreciation for the international efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, and stressed the need for all parties to adhere to the agreement to alleviate human suffering and create conditions aimed at achieving lasting peace.
The Chinese side praised the importance of the positive and influential role of the UAE in the region, and the UAE side appreciated the positive efforts and important contributions made by the Chinese side to promote peace and stability in the Middle East and the world.
The two sides also expressed their keenness to enhance communication and coordination in the United Nations, the BRICS Group, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and other multilateral platforms, and to make joint efforts to achieve greater prosperity and progress for the whole world.
