The National Archives and Library were honored with the Kuwait Creativity Award 2025


KUWAIT, December 15, 2018 (WAM) – The Arab Media Forum, the Archives and the National Library honored the Kuwait Creativity Award 2025, during an official ceremony held in the State of Kuwait, in the presence of an elite group of Arab media and cultural figures, in appreciation of its pioneering role and constructive contributions to the cultural content industry, and its continuing efforts to collect the nation’s memory and preserve it for generations, relying on the latest advanced technologies.
This honor comes within a group of distinguished institutions and creative personalities, to reflect the leading cultural position of the National Archives and Library, and its pivotal role in enriching and empowering knowledge societies, preserving the documentary stock, and developing cultural and knowledge work, in a way that enhances awareness of national identity and serves sustainable development goals.
His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Majid Al Ali, Director General of the National Archives and Library, who received the honor on this occasion, said that this honor is a tribute to the National Archives and the National Library, and an incentive to continue its mission of spreading knowledge and preserving national memory, noting that it reflects the depth of cultural integration between the United Arab Emirates and the sisterly State of Kuwait, which represent two centers of cultural and knowledge radiation in the region.
He added that this honor highlights the National Archives and Library as a cultural edifice and beacon of knowledge that contributes to enhancing awareness of documentary heritage and documenting the process of prosperity that the UAE has achieved under its wise leadership, in addition to strengthening its strong relations with brotherly and friendly countries.
His Excellency praised the pioneering and continuous Kuwaiti efforts in supporting cultural work and the qualitative initiatives it launches that contribute to revitalizing the cultural movement locally, regionally and in the Arab world. He expressed his pride in being honored within an annual award that celebrates Arab talents in the fields of media, thought and creativity, and brings together active and distinguished Arab entities.
It is noteworthy that the National Archives and Library has played a leading national and cultural role since its founding in 1968, as one of the oldest institutions specialized in documentation and archiving in the Gulf region, as it continues its efforts to preserve and disseminate the national documentary heritage, launch cultural and media initiatives, and embody future visions that support the knowledge economy and the sustainability of the cultural renaissance.
