Al-Ittihad wins the second round against Zamalek… and Al-Ahly wins over Al-Jazira in the Allianz Basketball League
The matches of the second round of the ranking round of the Allianz Men’s Basketball Premier League for the 2025-2026 season have ended.
4 strong matches were held today in the second round competitions, where Al-Ahly won over Al-Jazira with a score of 76-69, and Al-Ittihad of Alexandria defeated Zamalek with a score of 83-80, at the top of the second round of the Allianz League.
While Smouha beat Sporting with a score 82-79, and Telecom Egypt surpassed its counterpart, Petrojet, with a score of 85-84.
The Allianz League’s ranking round competitions are held in a home-and-away system between the eight participating teams, with the winner of each match receiving two points, compared to one point for the defeated, for ranking from first to eighth, and determining the quarter-final matches.
8 teams participate in the ranking round, namely: Al-Ahly, Al-Ittihad of Alexandria, and Zamalek, And Sporting, Al Jazira, Telecom Egypt, Petrojet, and Smouha.
The Allianz Basketball Premier League is the most prominent tournament at the local season level, as its champion qualifies for the African League, which represents the gateway to qualifying for the Club World Cup.
