India will soon become the third largest economy in the world

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday called on Jordanian companies to invest in his country, saying that they can achieve good returns on their investments as the country is growing at a rate of more than 8%.

The Press Trust of India news agency quoted Modi as saying in his speech before the India-Jordan Business Forum in the Jordanian capital, Amman, on Tuesday, that India will soon become the third largest economy in the world, and that it offers opportunities for Jordanian companies to become part of this growth story.

Modi added that India’s high GDP numbers are due to productivity-based governance and innovation-led growth policies.
Modi said that although numbers are important in the business world, he came to Jordan to build a long-term relationship between the two countries.

Modi added: “The relationship between India and Jordan is a relationship in which historical trust and future economic opportunities combine.”

The Prime Minister stressed that India is growing very rapidly, and that it opens the doors of new opportunities for Jordanian companies as well.

Modi arrived in the Jordanian capital yesterday, Monday, on a two-day visit at the invitation of King Abdullah II. It is the first stop on the Indian Prime Minister’s four-day tour that also includes Ethiopia and the Sultanate of Oman.
