Emirates Fatwa launches the publication of “Fatwa Considerations and Principles in Family Issues”

As part of its third global conference, “The Family in the Context of Jurisprudence of Reality: A National Identity and a Cohesive Society,” the Emirates Council for Sharia Fatwa launched a new scientific publication entitled “Considerations and Principles of Fatwa in Family Issues,” in a step that reflects the Council’s keenness to develop institutional fatwa work and enhance its presence in addressing contemporary family issues, according to a balanced vision that combines legal constants and understanding the variables of reality.

This issuance comes within the framework of supporting national efforts aimed at consolidating the status of the family as the basic pillar in building society, in line with the Year of Society 2025, and in accordance with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” to make the year 2026 the Year of the Family, which reflects the UAE’s commitment to enhancing family cohesion and the quality of community life.

The publication aims to provide a comprehensive reference framework that helps fatwa bodies, institutions, researchers, and specialists deal systematically with family issues, through a set of general principles that take into account the legal, national, realistic, legal, value-based, purposeful, and educational dimensions. In a way that contributes to directing the family fatwa towards achieving family stability, preserving national identity, and supporting societal peace.

The publication highlights the pivotal role of institutional fatwas in keeping pace with social, scientific and technical transformations, and enhancing their ability to interact positively with developments, while emphasizing the importance of integration between fatwa work and national policies related to family affairs and community development.

The Emirates Council for Sharia Fatwa confirmed that this publication embodies the Council’s vision of improving the family fatwa to be an effective tool in preventing family disintegration, supporting family stability, and promoting the values ​​of belonging, moderation, and compassion, in line with the cultural heritage of the UAE, and anticipating the requirements of the future in light of the accelerating changes.

This publication is a qualitative addition to the Council’s system of scientific publications, and a supportive reference for the process of developing the family fatwa discourse at the national and global levels.
