The Emirates Search and Rescue Team concludes its participation in the “Earthquake Response” exercise in South Africa

The Emirates Search and Rescue Team concluded its participation in the 2025 Africa, Europe and Middle East Earthquake Response Exercise (AEME ERE), hosted by the Republic of South Africa with the participation of a number of international search and rescue teams, with the aim of enhancing the readiness of emergency response teams and developing their field capabilities.

This participation comes within the framework of the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority’s efforts to improve the emergency response system, by exchanging experiences with international teams and applying international best practices in the fields of field research, rescue, and accident site management.

The exercise also contributed to raising participants’ efficiency in dealing with complex scenarios and developing joint coordination skills during field operations.

The Authority stressed its keenness to continue developing its cadres and enhancing the readiness of the operational work system, ensuring the highest levels of response in different circumstances, and supporting the ability of search and rescue teams to perform their tasks in accordance with the highest international standards.
