Austria joins international efforts to support the implementation of the peace plan in Gaza

Today, the Council of Ministers of Austria approved the deployment of specialized elements from the police and army forces and civilian experts in the Middle East region, to support the implementation of the peace plan in the Gaza Strip, with the Ministries of Interior, Foreign Affairs and Defense responsible for providing participants in this mission.
The Cabinet’s approval came at the request of Foreign Minister Beata Meinel-Reisinger, who believes that the strong and early presence of European countries in the initial phase of implementing the comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza is crucial in order to play an effective role in shaping the post-war regime and rebuilding the Gaza Strip.
Foreign Minister Meinel Reisinger confirmed Austria’s participation in the efforts aimed at ending the Gaza war once and for all, contributing to bearing responsibility for peace and stability in the Middle East and supporting reconstruction.
It revealed that two Austrian experts have already arrived at the Civil-Military Coordination Center, which is led by the United States and is responsible for coordinating international support efforts for Gaza.
The Austrian Cabinet report stated that five individuals will be deployed in the Middle East region, to support the implementation of the peace plan in the Gaza Strip, with the possibility of deploying additional personnel from the Ministries of Interior and Defense to carry out preparation and support activities, and allowing the deployment of up to 20 members of the armed forces, in any necessary air transport operation for the Austrian unit.
