Abu Dhabi Peace Forum and organization "Religions for peace" They are discussing enhancing cooperation

ABU DHABI, 19 December / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Peace Forum in Abu Dhabi received a high-level delegation from the “Religions for Peace” organization, as part of an official visit aimed at deepening dialogue, exchanging visions, and strengthening paths of joint action between international religious institutions concerned with consolidating a culture of peace and human coexistence.

Under the guidance and follow-up of His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Bayyah, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Peace Forum, meetings were held between the committee and the forum, which witnessed extensive discussions led by His Excellency Sheikh Al-Mahfouz bin Bayyah, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Peace Forum, with the organization’s delegation, which included Dr. Francis Correa, President of the organization, and Dr. William Findlay, its honorary president, and their accompanying delegation. A number of directors, advisors and researchers were also present from the forum’s side.

During the meeting, the two parties exchanged views on current humanitarian and moral issues, and ways to develop cooperation between religious leaders and institutions in confronting global challenges, in a way that enhances the values ​​of peace, serves human dignity, and contributes to building more cohesive and understanding societies.

The organization’s delegation was also briefed on the experience of the Abu Dhabi Peace Forum, and its intellectual and practical programs and initiatives in the field of promoting peace, spreading the culture of dialogue, and confronting hate speech and extremism.

The two sides stressed the importance of continuing communication, deepening coordination, and joint work within the framework of mutual respect and a comprehensive humanitarian vision, while emphasizing that any future steps related to joint projects or activities are subject to the institutional procedures approved by both parties, and include the necessary legal and regulatory frameworks, and official statements issued by the competent authorities.

For its part, the delegation expressed its thanks in this regard to the Abu Dhabi Peace Forum for its warm reception, praising its pioneering efforts in consolidating a culture of peace and coexistence.

Religions for Peace is the oldest and broadest global multi-religious organization concerned with promoting peace and coexistence. It is headquartered in New York and works, through its wide presence in dozens of countries, to support practical cooperation between religious leaders in order to prevent conflicts, build sustainable peace, and promote common human values.

This visit falls within the context of the support and care given by the UAE’s wise leadership to peace and dialogue initiatives, affirming the country’s firm commitment to building bridges of understanding between peoples.
