The launch of the World Government Summit 2026 with record international participation

Dubai, 3 February / WAM / The World Government Summit 2026 was launched today in Dubai, under the slogan “Foreseeing the Governments of the Future”, with international participation, the largest in the history of the summit, and in the presence of an elite group of leaders of countries and governments, decision makers and experts from around the world.
The summit’s agenda keeps pace with major global transformations and rapid developments in vital sectors, through a comprehensive forward-looking vision that monitors the most prominent future challenges and opportunities, and contributes to strengthening the role of governments in consolidating the foundations of sustainable development and building societies that are more resilient and prepared for the future.
The World Government Summit, which brings together more than 6,250 participants from government leaders and experts, aims to formulate common strategies and visions to improve government performance and enhance international cooperation, in addition to devising practical and effective solutions to the growing global challenges, through a diverse agenda that includes comprehensive dialogues and in-depth discussions on current global and regional issues.
The 2026 session will witness the largest leadership participation since the launch of the summit, as it will host more than 60 heads of state and government and their deputies, more than 500 ministers, and representatives of more than 150 governments, along with an elite group of global thought leaders and experts.
The summit’s activities include holding more than 445 sessions in which more than 450 speakers, including presidents, ministers, decision-makers and experts, participate, in addition to more than 700 CEOs of major international institutions and companies, 87 scientists who have won Nobel Prizes and other prestigious scientific awards, and representatives of more than 80 international and regional organizations and academic and research institutions.
The summit also receives wide media coverage, with the participation of more than 840 local, regional and international media professionals, along with more than 44 media partners.
The agenda of this session includes 25 global forums focusing on the trends most closely related to the human future, in addition to more than 45 ministerial and high-level meetings, while the summit’s themes are based on five main areas, including global governance and effective leadership, societal well-being and human capacity development, economic prosperity and emerging opportunities, the future of cities and population transformations, and future prospects and upcoming opportunities.
The summit also hosts a number of meetings and forums organized by governments from various countries around the world, and the summit issues 36 strategic reports in cooperation with knowledge partners from think tanks and international academic and research institutions, with the aim of analyzing global trends and providing implementable government policies and solutions.
The Summit’s work this year includes the third edition of the Global Ministers’ Survey, which surveys ministers’ opinions on the most pressing international issues, in support of governments’ efforts to define development priorities and formulate public policies.
In its current session, the summit offers four international awards, including the Best Minister in the World Award, the World Award for Most Developed Government, the Dubai International Award for Best Sustainable Development Practices, and the International Teacher Award, in partnership with prestigious international institutions.
