The perfect start against Al Dhafra made it easy for us to win

The captain and goalkeeper of the Al Jazira team, Ali Khasif, attributed his team’s conceding of two goals during the Al Dhafra match, which ended with a 4-2 victory for “Abu Dhabi Pride” yesterday, in the ninth round of the league, to some cases of laxity that appeared on the players in certain periods of the match.

Khasif said in press statements after the match: “We entered the match well, and it was important that we make a strong start and score more than one goal, so that we would not be exposed to any harassment, especially since Al Dhafra is one of the teams that is good at playing against adults.” He added: “There was laxity at the end of the first half, which resulted in conceding a goal, but we came back strong in the second half and widened the gap, and this is what made the confrontation go the way we wanted it to go.”

Al Jazira’s early lead made things easier against Al Dhafra, after Khalifa Al Hammadi opened the scoring with a header in the 8th minute, then Vinicius Melo increased the lead after shooting a ball with his left hand (20).

Before the end of the first half, Johan Berg succeeded in reducing the difference to Al-Dhafir, after snatching the ball from defender Mohamed Elneny (45 + 1).

In the second half, Mohamed Elneny restored the lead to Al Jazira with a wonderful shot (67), then substitute Bruno de Oliveira scored the fourth goal, after a long pass from Abdullah Ramadan (77).

Johan Berg returned to score a second goal for Al Dhafra from a counterattack (85), but that did not affect Al Jazira’s victory, which raised its score to 17 points, equal to Shabab Al Ahly, climbing to third place in the league standings, while Al Dhafra fell to eighth place with 12 points.
