"NVIDIA" It is preparing to resume exporting its advanced chips to China

Washington, December 22 / WAM / Nvidia has notified its customers in China of its plans to begin shipping the H200 chip, its second most powerful artificial intelligence chip, before the Lunar New Year holiday in mid-February.

The company aims to supply between 40,000 to 80,000 slices from its current stock, but sources confirmed that the implementation timetable is still entirely dependent on the issuance of official approvals from China, which has not yet given the green light to complete the deal, according to what was reported by the “Business Times” economic newspaper.

These moves come in response to the recent shift in American policy after President Donald Trump announced allowing the sale of these advanced chips for a 25% fee, abandoning the ban imposed by the previous administration.

While these shipments will provide major Chinese technology companies such as Alibaba and ByteDance with processing capabilities six times greater than currently available solutions, Beijing is carefully examining the situation amid fears that the influx of American chips will slow the pace of development of the domestic industry.
